free hugs.
not a post that i really want to be typing but it's something highly post-worthy so i figured i'd just spend a bit of time here.
yesterday was a bit of a joke. if you read my post in the morning you'd think i'd sleep my arse off at home. that is not true. i had lunch with my family. then i went down to orchard to be kool and hang out when i saw a few teenagers holding up placards screaming in capital letters in their black tape, "FREE HUGS".
something pretty wth-able and laughable. and yes of course i would have smirked at them any other day if the person who was holding it was none other than.. yuklun. and i was going to join him in doing this joke cip.
i swear if it wasn't for the kids with cancer i would have never taken part in this. oh plus i met a few 27ths earlier so that said, i was pretty glad i didn't see them while i was on duty. except one or two. haha.
anyway a saturday afternoon not doing homework while helping out kids with cancer sounded good. but i didn't want to plunge into giving others free hugs because i am not comfortable with this nonsense. tea bloody tricked me, i thought i could sit by one side and sell t-shirts but NOOO. still, the beginning is always the toughest.
after a while i kinda got into my stride when i received my first hug from a young angmoh. damn funny it's like more than 80% of the people who went to hug us were caucasian. the singaporeans either just stared, looked amused or disgusted.. or those mofos took photos. (bloody hell.)
i guess i must have looked pretty gay because i hugged only young guys that day. and all caucasian. that was the general trend among the rest as well. later we had fun sitting around and punking random passers-by. decline further comment.
then uhh we completed cip pretty early so went for an early sumptuous dinner. lucky prata in lucky plaza. was fking funny because we all placed our orders and immediately we all marched out to the toilet. the owner was befuddled like "wth these chinese are mad" or something.
anyway the fare was great. it's not exactly superb must go try but for orchard the price was fairly reasonable and it filled me up all the same. walked down to dhoby ghaut to lan because the devil in me was DOMINATING and as soon as i raised the idea to the rest, four heads nodded in consent and we got screwed for the rest of the night.
still, it was fun while it lasted. tea, yuklun, dengchao, gabriel and i were trying out all the bloody games in the lan shop and even though it was hot and the place was squeezy (trying to raise revenue, those jokers), i guess there was the entertainment value.
oh and btw some git was playing WESTLIFE while playing dota. such that there wasn't any typical dota noises coming from his computer, but instead the strains of "i have a dream" can be heard ALL OVER THE LAN SHOP. crazy fucking prick is subjecting us to his negative externalities and I LIKE IT.
NOT.
what can you expect from a lan shop? well after three hours of shat and loads of kills we left. the dumbass lan shop owner almost lost dc's ez-link card. fool. he used a sort of card album and was flipping through it tons of times before finally finding out that it was behind another card -.-"
oh wait. dc found that out for himself while that fat fag was sitting there looking through his wad of $50 notes wondering if he could misplace it there. seriously the whole set up was a joke and i don't think we'll ever go back there again. neither should you if you happen to read this.
after we left we made a pact never to lan till after As. i must admit even though i lan little, i am beginning to start to like it. not good. must keep my good boy image.
sunday morning was trash because i had little sleep the night before. i was woozy and groggy but i got out of bed anyway since i owed my family a treat for passing dalf c1. i cleverly said (while in a good mood duh) that they'd all get to go to DÉLIFRANCE. so there we were.
it was a good breakfast. and particularly good even though my wallet felt kinda empty afterwards. the morning was killed as my father decided to bring us on a long car ride and we just cruised across the vast countryside (lol generous description) to take in the uh, wonderful panoramic views of singapore.
i liked doing nothing and staring ahead into the distance. the weather was also quite good as the wind was cooling. perfect for snoozing away in an armchair by the marina, but unfortunately 1) i am a student and i have better things to do - supposedly study, 2) i don't own an armchair by the marina and 3) i think that's what old people do.
so we went home after lunch, where i promptly got to sleep because of the lack of it the night before. woke up at found that i had too much energy to vent.
left for the stadium to complete a pretty daunting 6.00km (3 sf). i think i'm getting my old self back - the spirit that just loves to run and run and letting my thoughts all run free at the same time and ignoring all the troubles that i have in this world.
though of course they come back the moment i finished my 15 laps. gahh.
but like the plan to lan, the hugging instead of the mugging, it felt good while it lasted. running seriously takes away all the pain you might be feeling. and in any case when you don't feel like mugging, you can't force yourself to do it. i don't like coercing people to do stuff. much less myself.
so i think today was pretty productive woots.
tomorrow is monday. and i'm gloomy again lol.
navy seals ftw!~
