random..

boy am i shagged from work. clocked 42.25 hours this week, no mean feat for any workhorse. think i pwnt most of the regulars in terms of office time.

that added to the 1am and 2am every night - it's no wonder i'm getting remarks that i look "haggard". and acne is taking over my life zzz. okay not really. but for the most of my face.

so i was thinking of something terribly exciting to blog about, but i don't want to talk about work. i think my brain is truly fried - because upon reading the last line i realise that one would interpret that my work is exciting.

oh there are many funny articles in mypaper though. there's this article about the favourite search terms of children 18 years and below (WOW i'm damn grown up). they were then further split into tweens (below 7), pre-teens (7-12) and teens (13-18).

there were no fight for the first three search terms, common among all the age groups. if i recall correctly it was youtube in first place, google in second, and facebook in third.

i start to wonder though, why the heck would anyone SEARCH google? isn't google the damn thing you use to search? and how did they even find out who in which age group searches what? don't tell me they find surveyors to call up little kids at home to find out what they've been searching?

"hi may i speak to the youngest person in the house?"

"oh i was just wondering what website you were surfing?"

and heck, why would anyone under 7 be using the computer? i only started using the computer seriously when i was in late sec 1/sec 2. have times changed or am i just noob?

okay i digress. so apart from the top 3 - now comes the "worrying" bit, as expressed in the papers. teens' fourth most popular search term was "sex".

hey i thought it was neopets?? (i started to play neopets when i was sec 2 - still going strong btw, 5 million neopoints hahaha.)

the papers reported that it was worrying that teenagers these days are obsessed with sex blah blah blah, and that they were searching the wrong things blah blah blah. well maybe they were really into sex education?

anyway if you thought THAT was bad, the "tweens" (that's children aged 7 and below mind you) fourth most popular search term was PORN. that's even better than sex, they search for PORN. and the best part was, the papers made no mention of it.

i was like HOLY SHIT? WTF? shouldn't it be the other way round? teens should be the ones searching for porn! - okay that sentence is a bit off, but you get what i mean. the search term "sex" is more generic and well, you might even get some educational sites about the birds and the bees.

but PORN? tsk. geez.

if YOU had a 5 year old kid i think it's time to start looking over his shoulder when he uses the computer. although you probably don't even have to strain your neck to do that.

IMAGINE A 5 YEAR OLD KID SURFING PORN?

i conclude that it was a really inaccurate article. check out wednesday's edition of mypaper if you don't believe the article exists. it's truly rommytot.

that said, i thought it was a very good article. don't get me wrong, i might have said it was inaccurate but that doesn't make it a lousy article or a lousy paper. this article made my day. i'm very pleased whenever some guy writes a whole load of crap.

anyone up for a discussion?
