WHY?
i took a short leave of absence from the computer. and when i came back..
Zola was sacked.
i totally don't **** understand what gold and sullivan are up to? to quote one of the comments on soccernet, "what a #### joke!!! Zola should have been rewarded for saving the club, not fired. David Sullivan is a laughing stock! #### morons with money annoy me!!"
another said, "Slaven Bilic has 0 experience managing in the Premier League let alone English football. Lets see what happens, but i do wish that this move blows up in the faces of both the Davids. Cannot stand them. "
well, i certainly hope the move does NOT blow up, or i'd be the one blowing up at those two scums at the helm. so much for being west ham fans, they're incredibly intolerant. it's like hello we're 17th by a mile but this is his first managerial job so what did you really expect?
CHAMPIONS LEAGUE?
the old swts by the name of eggert magnusson spent tons of hammer money (and leaving the club in debt) on players who are more like nails to me. they twist and bend and go out of action, and GUESS WHAT - they're still on the club's payroll.
you don't need to study accountancy or finance to know that you're in a losing proposition. what's more they sign these old men at their twilight footballing years and expect them to live out 4-5 year contracts.
again, what the heck?
never mind west ham's stupid financial situation. just because these two people walk in with money, they think they have the right to mess about. (okay, technically they do, but that's not my point.) the point is they sacked someone who saved west ham from the drop.
the brutal honesty is that west ham was never in danger of dropping thanks to hull and burnley. but if you were to have a manager like roy keane, i think having those two around would hardly be of any assurance. (note i didn't mention portsmouth who is managed by an ugly clown.) directors these days expect too much of managers. he didn't even give zola a chance.
i'm making this much noise because west ham has a proud tradition of long-staying managers. that's a bit like singapore and their PMs. it's called stability. manure stuck with old whiskey nose and despite him being a fergu-scum, he's a scum that wins trophies.
ditto for arsenal with wenger, even though they don't win that much. i thought gold and sullivan were a different brand of directors, but it turns out they're no better than those foolish investors from abroad.
what can i say. i'm disappointed.
i just hope they don't appoint someone like avram grant. it was tough enough to have been following west ham through this messed up season, it's going to be infinitely tougher if they get an ugly whore-visiting (this has been proven btw) fat ass as a manager.
this season i woke up at unearthly hours to catch the hammers losing. if they appoint this freak i think next season i'll have to watch the hammers lose in unearthly ways. no thank you.
the heartless bastards that go by the name of gold and sullivan had better be more discerning with their choice. and mark hughes stop being a mercenary **** please.
i'm still clinging to my glimmer of hope of CL in 7 years. make that 6 now.
i'll round off with another awesome comment at soccernet. maybe he isn't really a "great" coach, but the last line was funny.
"Great coach, classy guy. Did a tremendous job with what he had to work with. You cannot make a race horse out of a donkey and he did near that. And the fat spanish waiter remains employed at liverpool... Good lord "
.....sums it all up.
ANYWAY IN OTHER MORE RELEVANT NEWS CLOSER TO HOME..
i have successfully completed 6 months at bain. how's that for job loyalty. i think i deserve extra M&S biscuits at the pantry. and an extra dollar per hour wouldn't hurt either. (except for the company's coffers it might.)
i was sitting in the finance office today and i think the search for my replacement has about begun. i am not in a good mood, because a large part of my post-ORD life is centred around bain. even though i have saved them x dollars, they have treated me far better than my friends in the government sector.
i think i'm really a workaholic, but nothing pleases me more than a good day of hard work. i might be clocking in a typical '9am-6pm', but within these hours each day is a different experience that i enjoy. at least that's the way it's been over here. can't say the same while wearing green HAHA.
they're always there to put me out of my misery each time i'm down. my grandma's death last december, a few random events in the first quarter of the year, and most significantly, THE EUROTRIP. i couldn't have found a more efficient way to pack away my troubles.
this is emo and gay. but it has really been good for me so far. i've grown to be a part of the community, although i'm still invisible to most. maybe it's more accurate to say that the community is growing on me.
today was a pretty funny day. it all started because a consultant came in to say hello. he claims he's seen me around before, but he doesn't remember what i do. well i certainly remember him for his messy expenses, but that was beside the point.
after he went around introducing some new colleagues to the finance office, there was a sudden wave of realisation that hit the rest. i think it was my supervisor who mentioned that "he didn't even tell us their (the new guys') names".
that was utterly LOL. i was wondering how could i have not noticed it either. perhaps i'm too used to being The Invisible Man that it didn't mean much - i won't be here for long anyway.
the rest of the finance office didn't seem to think so. a hot discussion ensued, and lots of gossipy content came out. since i am The Invisible Man, i don't know whether they didn't realise i was there or they simply didn't care about letting me hear what they were saying.
nevertheless it was super amusing because they were discussing guys.
prior to this session i thought guys were mean when giving evaluation on the opposite gender. well let's just say i kinda found out that the fairer sex is about as equally guilty. HAHAHA. it was quite an experience and i tried my best not to laugh as they gave their lowdown on the new recruits.
closer to the end of the day, the finance office suddenly decided to have another discussion - this time on temps. the afore-mentioned Invisible Man was presumed to be absent, although he was actually listening all the time. (it's hard not to when they're speaking across the room.)
it first started when they asked me about yuk and how he enjoyed his job. i figured there was no harm in telling them the truth so after a long thoughtful pause i simply replied "why do you think i'm here?"
for some reason they found that very funny. and i think for that they weren't going to ask him back for another week. (ah shit what have i done, i'm so sorry.)
they proceeded to discuss about the other temps that have walked through the hallowed corridor to lift 20 of 8 shenton way, former temasek tower. now this is a far more sensitive topic considering my Temp status is much higher relative to my Man status.
but the carnage had just begun. apparently while i was waiting for a flight out of singapore, bain's finance department had just about seen the worst temp ever, completing 1 expense in 1 day. i almost wanted to laugh my arse off at that one. it's incredible how anyone can be that slow, even a first-timer.
for a fair guide, chew did 4 or 5 on his first day. i think that one cannot expect too much from a temp on his/her FIRST day, but to do one expense really shows that she's not interested. rather like wigan playing against chelsea, no matter how much they dispute that.
so my boss wasn't pleased. i heard the temp complained about not being called back. jokes. with that sort of work rate she might be better off working at THE GREAT ORD MOVEMENT. maybe she can produce a design for us if we gave her one month. i think that'd be good.
anyway bain seems to be needing a deluge of temps now. and i think poor HR is trying their best but the temp agencies are mucking up. this mister, sorry, i meant doctor who zai fa? (it's him who 發 la duh) from i'm-Robert-i'll-take-Half-your-pay must be the number one guilty party.
it's too bad you don't have a temp training centre. now that i'm almost out of the temp workforce, i think i should propose a temp training school - where candidates are evaluated for proper attitude and work ethic before they can graduate to become responsible temps.
of course we all know this is poppycock. companies need temps because of last-minute, urgent assignments. the School of Temps would be quite a waste of resources. i figured the recruitment agencies would rather let their clients po heng suay.
one comment rounded it all up. i'm not sure who said it and i'm not sure if i heard correctly. i'm not trying to brag either but i think i really heard "_____ is good because he's A level. these A level people can do work."
hahahahahahahahahahahaha.
it's wth elitist, but it's sure as hell FUNNY and OWNAGEEEEEEEEE!~
thus summarises my very exciting day.
