Operation Cliff Richard
yesterday saw the start of Operation Cliff Richard. i'm not doing any ops on him nor am i attempting to assassinate him - it's only normal for a young boy like me to want to watch a Cliff Richard concert. (uh, is it?)
and before i forget, a Sir Cliff Richard concert. how cool is it watching a knight sing, man. granted he's a gay but he's talented and to cut a long story short i very badly want to watch him and it's coming along at a high price. cue economics theories.
after reading a little bit (like 1 chapter) of undercover economist, i have discovered that sistic is indeed ripping our arses off by charging a hefty $30 more for a category that is deemed better. and guess what, the more expensive category is just located next to the lower-grade category. am i to pay $30 extra for that marginal bit of utility? is the view much better than i should get $30? hell it's a concert and it's the music that matters, i'm not there to look at him.
plus when cz and i went for notre dame we got really cheapskate and bought cheap tix, moving up later. i think i can sense a repetition. just hope for the luck of the draw and that we get the terrace seats. okay i'm babbling about how screwed up sistic is by charging $30 for imaginary differences. the marginal cost isn't even bloody worth it.
suck some - i'm an econs student.
still, watching Sir Cliff Richard to me is a necessity. not a luxury, but a necessity since he hasn't got that many years left on his clock. paying the minimum sum without any frills that probably aren't worth as much as it's valued.. still cost a whopping $90.
you must understand i'm no way rich. and my parents who knew i wanted to watch him in concert, flatly refused to give me any money. dang, as if i was asking them in the first place. i thought independence was ftw. and when i opened my wallet and checked my savings..
..shit. nowhere near $90.
my allowance was $50 a week - haircuts, ez-link, class funds all included. that meant i won't be taking bus to school unnecessarily. and i'd look like a beatle for a few weeks to come. and preston the fag (treasurer) collected $10 from me on monday. good game. bw house funds walloped $15. i was starting to get desperate.
presenting to you OPERATION CLIFF RICHARD.
where i intend to spend no more than $2 in school EVERY SINGLE DAY. it's an uphill task and so far i'm doing kinda badly because there's always the tendency to buy snacks or the occasional ice lemon tea. either that.. or a random purchase.
i resolve to drink nothing but product of the watercooler nowadays. it's the only way to keep my expenditure to $2.
now i shall have a daily update of what i spend. if i am showing indiscipline in any way you gotta flame me on my tagboard. like tell me to stop being an idiot or something. basically i'm not keeping very well to it, but anyway here goes.
monday - lunch + curry puff + ez-link one way. ($3.45 tmd)
tuesday - lunch + ez-link one way. ($2.15 tmd)
MAKE UP THE DEFICIT.
$10.00 - $3.45 - $2.15 = $4.40 for three days.
omg must tell myself i don't love food anymore.
on a separate note (not the sort that Cliff Richard can hit), today's civics was bloody amusing. and funny. and jokes. and hilarious.
mark will say i tried to spoil the survey. others might say i was trying to be funny. but you must admit it's such a funny topic that not talking cock about it would not be doing justice to the civics programme. so talk cock i did. and let me tell you how screwed up the survey was. (my class probably said i'm more screwed up but WHO CARES)
1. a girl is most impressed with a date who..
a) is handsome
b) is chivalrous
c) plans ahead
how would i know? maybe she likes one who plans to be handsome and chivalrous. wth DUMB. LAME. STUPID.
2) a guy should pay for dinner.. (NEVER!!!!)
3) the most important thing on a first date is.. your wallet.
4) if a girl dresses up sexily when out on a date it means..
c) SHE WOULD LIKE TO IMPRESS ALL GUYS.
isn't that like common sense DUH?
5) if a guy sends a girl home after a group outing, it means..
..he wants to go into her house. TSK SNICKYY!
6) a girl and a guy who are going out for the first time together are saying that:
this is our first time.
7) is plain dumb.
8) the reason why (s)he is my girl/boyfriend because
- everyone answered this question.
i was just "sir it's not applicable i don't have a girlfriend."
mr teo - "CAN'T YOU JUST PRETEND?"
uh, no really.
9 and 10 are just plain dumb too. "let's be friends"?!
11) after a disagreement that cannot be resolved, who should make the first move to patch things up?
if it's a disagreement that cannot be resolved, then no matter who tries to patch it up will never succeed. the question is hence invalid.
12) premarital sex is..
..NO APOLOGIES.
13) having an abortion is..
..meant for those dumb shits who obviously didn't answer the previous question correctly.
i'm high. pardon me.
cliff richard ftw!~
